Going on a sunny holiday in Spain may not be on the cards right now, but if you have a green thumb, you can bring the magic of the Mediterranean to your garden by choosing the right plants. Here are some tips for recreating the Mediterranean vibe in your own backyard.
Terracotta Pots
Fill your garden with lots of pots. Vary the size and fill them with succulents, plants, and herbs. Mediterranean parts work very well in teracotta pots.

Bright Colors
Mediterranean gardens are filled with bright oranges, reds, and yellows. Pelargoniums or poppies are great choices for adding vibrant colors to your garden.
I don’t think we’ll be able to go to Europe anytime soon, so this #fieldtripfriday is dedicated to the amazing gardens of Ravello, Italy. Photos from Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.
Soft Edges

Plant Lavender
The Mediterranean is a sensory culture that offers vibrant colors and aromatic smells. Plant lavender in your garden to create a relaxing atmosphere and tickle your senses.

Plant Olive Trees
You can’t get more Mediterranean than an olive tree. Olive trees are primed for the Mediterranean climate and create the feeling of being away from home. Plant an olive tree in a terracotta pot over summer to create a real Spanish feel.
