Jesus promises in St. Faustina’s Journal, 699:
“On that day, the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I put out a whole ocean of enhances upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy.
“The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion will acquire complete forgiveness of sins and penalty. On that day, all the magnificent floodgates through which graces circulation are opened. Let no soul worry to approach to Me, despite the fact that its sins be as scarlet.”
How can I get these enhances with closed churches?
Paragraph 1451-1452 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “Among the penitent’s acts contrition occupies very first place. Contrition is ‘sorrow of the soul and detestation for the sin dedicated, together with the resolution not to sin again.’
“When it emerges from a love by which God is liked above all else, contrition is called ‘ideal’ (contrition of charity). Such contrition remits venial sins; it likewise gets forgiveness of deadly sins if it consists of the firm resolution to have option to sacramental confession as quickly as possible.”
With the intention to go to confession and receive communion as soon possible,
1) Make an Act of Contrition:
O my God,
I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins,
since I fear the loss of heaven, and the discomforts of hell;
but many of all since they offend Thee, my God,
Who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I strongly resolve, with the aid of Thy grace,
to admit my sins, to do penance,
and to change my life.
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I prefer to receive You into my soul.
Because I can not at this moment get You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were currently there
and unite myself completely to You.
Never allow me to be separated from You.
Amen.
Fr. Alar recommends also making a prayer like this:
“Lord Jesus Christ, You assured St. Faustina that the soul that has been to Confession [I’m not able, but I made an Act of Contrition] and the soul that gets Holy Communion [I’m not able, but I made a Spiritual Communion] will get the complete forgiveness of all sins and penalty. Please, Lord Jesus Christ, offer me this grace.”
