Are you having a difficult time pushing previous your fears? You are not
alone.
We have actually all dealt with worry at some time in our lives. With our world being as volatile as it is, we can easily find ourselves providing into it.Fear is a weapon that the enemy likes to utilize to deceive God’s people.Let’s look at what fear really is … What is a fear?Fear is an undesirable
emotion caused by the belief that somebody or something is harmful, likely to cause pain, or a threat.Did you capture that? Fear is triggered by a belief. When we start
to feel fear, there are a few things we can do to recognize
where it came from and press past what’s seeking to hold us back. How to Get Over Worries that are Holding You Back Consider what you’re thinking of … When worry starts to rise, we can typically find the root by taking a look at what we are believing about.Years ago I remember my pastor motivating us to think about what we are thinking about. He recommended that throughout the day we should be monitoring our ideas, because not every idea ought to be allowed to take root in our minds.I need to be honest, when I began doing this I was appalled by what I had let consume my thoughts! The opponent enjoys to inhabit space in our believed life. If we enable him in, he will consistently feed us lies.
Those lies can cause fears.Let me ask you … What thoughts are you enabling to consume your mind? Are you accepting every thought
that comes into your mind?In Philippians, Paul encourages us that we don’t have to let our minds be filled with random thoughts that come our way … that we can be deliberate with what we focus on.And now
, dear brothers and siblings, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is real, and respectable, and right, and pure, and beautiful, and admirable. Think of things that are outstanding and deserving of appreciation. Philippians 4:8 NLT This is so encouraging! Even if an idea enters our minds, does not imply we have to accept it! We can set our
minds on the important things above and not the important things below.( Colossians 3:2)But what about those fear ideas that appear to come out of nowhere?(Yes, I have actually had those too!)The Word
is extremely clear about how to manage these intense darts … We are ruining advanced arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and function slave to the obedience of Christ,2
Corinthians 10:5 AMP We take them captive and make them loyal to Christ. What does that appearance like? The method I take my thoughts captive
and make them loyal to Christ it appears like this: 1. Acknowledge where it originated from 2.Rebukethe thought. 3. Make it line up with the Word. Here’s an example of an idea I had just a few days ago: > > > Thoughts: What if my kid leaves and can’t make it on his own? What if he requires me and I’m notthere for him?. > >
