On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday, home entertainment magnate Kanye West explained his decision to openly reveal his support for Donald Trump, which he said required him to have the confidence to stand up versus enormous backlash from liberals, media, and the hip-hop neighborhood, who attempted to promote the idea that all African-Americans need to vote Democrat.
“As a musician, African-American, person out in Hollywood, all these various things, everybody around me attempted to select my prospect for me,” West informed Kimmel when inquired about his choice to support Trump. “And after that informed me whenever I said I liked Trump that I couldn’t state it aloud or my profession would be over, I ‘d get kicked out of the black neighborhood– because blacks, we’re expected to have a monolithic thought … we can only be Democrats and all.”-
