During her acceptance speech at Range’s Power of Ladies event last week, Natalie Portman spoke in assistance of Time’s Up and offered a practical, proactive step ladies can take in their everyday lives to undermine all these trash sexist standards: “gossip well.”
” Stop the rhetoric that a lady is crazy or challenging,”Portman challenges, discussing how you, too, can assist prevent abusers like Harvey Weinstein from retaliating against ladies expertly. “If a man states to you that a lady is insane or challenging, ask him, ‘What bad thing did you do to her?’ That’s a code word. He is attempting to challenge her track record.”
And if that suggestion isn’t enough, do not fret. You can also contribute cash to females’s causes, gather with like-minded women, work to diversify your industry along all axises, demand (and offer!) equal pay, work with women who have actually had their track records unjustly smeared, hold abusers accountable for their actions and, if you can swing it, maybe take it simple with all the consistent rape and murder of females in your TV shows, films, etc.
