Saturday’s concert will be the first time in three years that Davido is returning to the O2 Arena after becoming the second Nigerian artiste to out-sold the 20,000 capacity in 2019.
The concert is coming about three months after Davido marked his 29th birthday and a decade of his career with a globally-acclaimed fundraiser that had the world in a frenzy. It is also barely two months after Netng released the first ever documentary on Davido,
In a decade of his career, Davido has won 18 awards, and sold out the 20, 000 capacity O2 Arena in 2019. His second album ‘A Good Time’ has amassed over 1 billion streams, and has released 3 albums to cement his place as one of the most successful contemporary music artists in Africa.
“Whether or not you think it’s because he’s rich that he’s gotten to where he is. He hustles like he has no money, and rent is due today,” Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi said in the Netng documentary released in January.
